I have been a proud member of the California Faculty Association in good standing for over 20 years and currently hold the office for Region 1 on the AAUP National Council and hope to continue as your representative for the region. We, AAUP, have begun to organize our faculty across the country, to fight against the erosion of academic freedom and the erosion of dual governance, and I would love to continue the work that we have started.

I am a faculty member in the Chicana(o) Studies Department at California State University, Northridge. I’ve been an advocate and fighter for faculty rights over the many years. I strongly believe, we have a duty to fight against administrators manufactured AUSTERITY so that we may PROTECT the jobs of our hard-working faculty. We must advocate for members’ rights contractually; and as they relate to our fight for social justice and against the current fascist government.
